Trainer Biography
Ruby, 17, has been passionate about horses for nearly her entire life. She first sat on a horse at just four years old and quickly discovered a love for the equine world that has continued to grow ever since. Through years of riding lessons and hands-on experience, horses have become more than a hobby- they have become where she feels most at home. At the age of nine, Ruby met the horse that would shape her horsemanship journey: Ash, a Mustang that had previously competed in a Mustang Makeover before becoming a therapeutic riding horse. Building a partnership with Ash opened her eyes to the incredible intelligence, versatility, and heart of the American Mustang. From first jumps to first horse shows, Ash inspired a lifelong admiration for the breed and sparked Ruby's dream of one day competing in a Mustang Makeover herself. Over the years, Ruby has assisted her trainer with both groundwork and ridden work on a variety of horses, including those needing additional training and confidence. She has also helped coach riders preparing for the Special Olympics and gained valuable experience refining horses for therapeutic riding programs. These opportunities have taught her the importance of patience, quiet consistency, and meeting each horse where they are in their training journey. Ruby is excited to take the next step in her horsemanship through the Bluegrass Mustang Makeover. She looks forward to learning from experienced trainers, building a partnership with her own mustang, and showcasing the remarkable potential of America's wild horses while continuing to grow as both a horsewoman and a competitor.
